Chole Kulche

Chole Kulche is a popular North Indian snack that is made up of boiled chickpeas and spices, served with fried bread, called Kulche. This delicious dish is usually served with onion, tomatoes, and lemon wedges. Kulcha is made from maida flour, water, a pinch of salt and a leavening agent (yeast, sourdough or old kulcha dough), mixed together by hand to make a soft dough. This dough is covered with a wet cloth and left to rest for an hour or so in a warm place. The result is a slight leavening of the dough but not much. Originating from the Punjab region, kulche Chole is loved all over the country. It has now gained immense popularity in the West too. Kulche chole is a delicious combination of all-purpose flour bread. Kulcha is tossed in butter first.
