Doraemon is a male robotic earless cat that travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a preteen boy named Nobita. An official birth certificate for the character gives him a birth date of 3 September 2112 and lists his city of residency as Kawasaki, Kanagawa, the city where the manga was created.

      Doraemon has a four-dimensional pocket that contains many gadgets to help him and Nobita. He also has a tough hide and fuselage that can withstand most attacks.

    Doraemon is a level-headed and mature character, but he can also be clumsy and not very smart when his younger sister Dorami is around. He has a strong fear of mice, which is a running joke in the series. His favorite food is dorayaki.

    Doraemon travels back in time to help a 10-year-old boy named Nobita Nobi. Nobita is lazy, unathletic, and often in trouble with his parents and peers.

    The character was created by Fujiko F. Fujio and first appeared in a manga serialized in 1969. The series has been adapted into TV anime and movies, and has been translated into many languages.
